MISSION VIEJO – Days after vandals tagged Philip J. Reilly Elementary School with a swastika and racial slurs, students there pushed back with an assembly on character education featuring former pro tennis players Peanut Louie Harper, Michael Chang and his wife Amber Liu Chang.
The graffiti – more than 40 markings on walls, doors and a drinking fountain – was discovered Sunday by a teacher coming to do some work in her classroom, Principal Judy Shades said. The tagging included images of a swastika, phrases such as “white power” and racial slurs, sheriff’s Sgt. Sandra Kirsch said.
