2:45 pm (Schenectady) Today, we attempt to go live as it happens.  The press is here, Fox News is here.  The excitement of Girls High School Sectional Finals at Sportime – Schenectady.  Court 4 – window court –  is the Singles Finals (Gaby Peda and Cat Crummey).  Court 3 is the Emma Willard Doubles Challenge, also known as the doubles finals with two teams from Emma Willard fighting it out for the championships.  The pressure matches are being played farther away from the window.  Courts 1 & 2 are the 3/4 playoffs where the winner goes to states, the loser does not.  Currently, Cat is up 3-0 in the first set.  King & Armstrong are leading Das & Goodman 3-1.  Claire Schmitz is leading Catherine Jenkins 4-3 and Laurilliard/Phillips lead O’Connor/Fallati 4-1.  There will be another update soon.

2:55 pm (Schenectady) – The first sets are all done.  The first set winners are Cat Crummey 6-1; Claire Schmitz 6-4; King / Armstrong 6-2 and Laurilliard / Phillips 6-1.

3:25 pm (Schenectady) – The first matches are done.  Cat Crummey is the Section 2 singles Champion champion with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Gaby Peda.  Claire Schmitz is the 3rd singles player going to states from Section 2 with a 6-4, 6-0 win over Catherine Jenkins.

3:30 (Schenectady) – Chassidy King and Keishora Armstrong take the Section 2 doubles Championships with a 6-2, 6-1 win over teammates Molly Goodman and Mitali Das.

3:40 pm (Schenectady) – The 3/4 doubles is over.  The winners Emily Laurilliard/Ann Phillips of Niskayuna beat Molly O’Connor and Mia Fallati of Shaker 6-1, 7-6.

Her win today was Cat Crummey’s third consecutive Section 2 Singles Championship.  Congratulations to all of the players who competed so well.
