We will be doing a series of articles on year end rankings. Although the final year end rankings have not yet come out I think we have enough information to do the 10’s. Ronan Jachuck of Slingerlands is #1 in the Boys 10’s and is virtually assured of being there when the final rankings come out. Ronan has 1450 points Eliot Spizzirri of Greenwich, CT has 958 points. Derek Raskopf of New York City is third with 878 points. Northpoint, New York’s Cannon Kingsley is fourth with 787 points. Rounding out the top 5 is Spencer Brachman of Commack, NY. As you can see, Ronan is comfortably out in front. Ronan still has over a year of eligibility in the 10 and Unders but he is pretty much playing 12 and Unders now. His last 10 and Under tournament was November 18 – a Level 1+ in Rochester, which he won. Since then he has played two 12 and under tournaments which he has had two quarter final losses and a loss in the finals. He and partner Ethan Leon also have a tournament win in the 12’s. Ronan compiled a tournament record in 2011 of 64-26. That figure includes his singles results and doubles results.

Now on to the Girls 10 and Unders. Andrea Cerdan of Bloomfield,New Jersey tops the list. Andrea’s brother Elijah has played sectionals in our area in the past. Her record in 2011 was 70-25. She has a comfortable lead over 2nd place Lea Ma of Dix Hills. Andrea has 1344 points and Lea has 1184. Francesca Karman of Port Washington, New York is the third ranked 10 and Under girl in the section. Brigitte Wu of Jersey City, NJ and Christina Huynh of Astoria, NY are 4th and 5th on the Girls 10 and Under list.
