More Local College Tennis (SUNY Adirondack and Siena Men’s Tennis)

SUNY Adirondack started the season out right with two home wins.  First, there was an 8-1 win on Tuesday over Herkimer Community College which was followed by a 7-2 win over Broome Community College.  Tomorrow (Saturday) they travel to Mohawk Valley Community College for their first away match.  The team features former Saratoga High School #1 Zach Arpey as well as former Queensbury #1 Stephan Legris along with last year’s #1 player Evan Desantis (Glens Falls High School).  Rounding out the starting lineup are Shawn Weinberger, Matt Edwards and  and Dana Fisk – all of South Glens Falls.

Siena University Men’s Team is having a tougher season.  So far this spring they are 1-6.  The bright spot for the team is Bethlehem’s Peter Collins who has a wining 7-6 record at #1 including the fall tournament season.  Peter was the lone winner in Siena’s latest match (a 6-1 defeat at the hands of Niagara).  The team’s lone win of the Spring season came on the Spring Break trip when they defeated Know College 8-1.  Siena returns to action on the 14th when they travel to Baltimore to play Loyola.  The Niagara match and the Loyola match are both MAAC League matches.
