This weekend, Sportime-Schenectady hosted a Level 1 junior tournament. Many local players played and many players came from out of town. Here is a list of the local players who won matches in the main draws along with the winners and finalists (seeding is in parenthesis).
BOYS 12 and Under – Conners O’Brien (1); Elijah Poritzky; Aidan O’Brien; Jon-Robert Corasanti (2). Conners won 6-0, 6-1 over Corasanti in the finals.
BOYS 14 and Under – Jason Tang (1); Ziqing Dong; Ritwik Mishra. Sartorius (Tyler) Reede (2) beat Tang 4-6, 6-3, 10-5 in the finals.
BOYS 16 and Under – Alex Fedorov; Lars Olson (2). Brett Edelbaum beat the #1 seed Wilbur Geng and went on to beat Lars 6-4, 6-0 in the finals.
BOYS 18 and Under – Ethan Long; Rohine Bose; Mitch Burhoe; Emerson Kelby; Rob Schmitz (2). Ben Shapiro (1) beat Jonathan Selegean 6-3, 3-6, 10-7 in the finals
GIRLS 12 and Under – Elise Wagle lost to Maya Fraser 6-2, 6-4 in the finals. (Sarah Corasanti was the top seed).
GIRLS 14 and Under – Mia Fallati (1) lost to Mia DiCaprio 6-4, 6-4 in the finals.
GIRLS 16 and Under -Ann Phillips; Chassidy King; Keishorea Armstrong; Christina Lee beat #2 seed Hannah Friend. In an all Emma Willard final King beat Armstrong 5-7, 7-5, 10-3.
GIRLS 18 and Under – Guilderland teammates Gabriela Peda and Kirsten Ackerman (now of Marist) played in the finals with Ackerman (2) winning 6-4, 6-2.
